Smile-O-Mania!! Woohoo! Here's a story to talk about:
Background Story:
Every day when we wake up, we're always rushing. We gotta get to work/school, gotta get the kids to school, gotta go to this important meeting, gotta get ready for a date, gotta do the laundry, the dishes, the cooking, the lawn mowing, gotta go grocery-shopping, gotta pay the bills, gotta, gotta, gotta...
And yet, sometimes we never stop to think or even enjoy what life gives us. And then by the end of the day, our faces are as wrinkly as raisins, and our moods are as grouchy as the Grinch on Christmas Eve. And trust me, EVERYONE is like this every so once in a while, even me. (Once I nearly made my sister cry because I was so busy with my work.) The other side of the world, kids are already back at school stressing their brains out and people are still twice as busy juggling work and family life. But at least their lives aren't probably as hectic as the Western Hemisphere, because those Easterners value and actually set aside a time for leisure, which we Westerners don't, especially Americans.
And who wonders why the stress level is the highest in Americans? Go figure.
Challenge #1:
My challenge for you is to pick a random place you normally go to throughout your normal daily routine and SMILE at someone. Note down that person's reactions to your smile, and post it here.
My Results:
Today (this past Tuesday), I was so bored mechanically putting needed things into the shopping cart that I decided to let my eyes wander just to amuse myself.
What caught my eyes was this little baby girl about 18 months-2 years old sitting in front of a cart, with her toothless mouth attacking a ripe red apple.
I stared at her fascinated as she was doing this for a few minutes, until I felt her eyes resting on me. I winked at her, wiggled my nose, and gave her the biggest-toothiest-jack o' lantern smile I could muster, and she smiled at me, giving a bubbly gurgle.
I laughed and said to my mom, "Aww, hey, Ma, I made a baby girl laugh. She's so adorable."
"Well, you always have a way with kids, you know," was my mom's reply (or at least it was somewhere along those lines).
I shrugged and thought to myself, "Hey, at least seeing someone smile brightens up my redundant days for a change."
THE END.
Now, it's your turn to do that challenge!
Hope it cheers you guys up too!
Updates as usual:
I finished reading Sue Grafton's Q is for Quarry, and now I'm debating against myself whether or not I want to finish another novel before school starts. I really like the creative stimulation circulating through my nerve cells.
Anyway, I'm getting busier as usual. And now, all of next week, I'll be busy with being a temporary facial model for my aunt for her cosmetology/beauty exam in Austin, TX next week (see calendar). I'll probably be back at least Tuesday evening or early Wednesday. But for this coming weekend, she'll be doing all the make-up, etc. to my face for practice and for me, especially, to get used to it... My, I wonder...
Oy, I'm gonna have to put off the Wednesday Mind Hump for this week and the Monday Mambo next week and probably the Hump again next week... until I get everything situated. Arrggh!! I knew August would be a crazy month for me, and it's just only the beginning! I wanna go back to my creative flow and get my Dollz Factory runnin' and my poetry pennin'... Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! *cry*
I'll miss you guys, because I don't know when I'll be coming back to the Blogworld and get back to blog-hopping over by everyone's sites... I just hope it won't take too long, or else, I'll go crazy!!
Note to self: I really NEED to stop being an insomniac. *sigh* You can't beat your internal clock, can you? It's bad for my health, because I want to FEEL and BE rested for school soon!
Bye now!! *huggles*
