My 8/18/04 journal entry that was never posted up for last week, now revised:

I should say that this was a rather interesting yet a weird adventure...

Starting from a regular boring plan to be a model for my aunt's facial exam at the Texas Cosmetology Center in Austin, Texas, the day ended with a slide from getting a speeding ticket and telling riddles to pass the time. And thankfully, we both got back to my house, exhausted, at one in the morning, safe and sound.

I love adventures---always have since I was a kid. But most of all, I love looking out the window during any car rides, assuming that I won't get motion sickness...

Anyway, my aunt joked that I should write a book about this, but hey, at least the cop was nice enough to let us go---with a warning instead of a ticket. I mean, driving on the interstate is creepy. Dark as a blackhole and occasionally, we'd see big 18-wheelers... Other than that, there were barely any other cars driving around so late at night.

But after that exam, we wanted to go to Wonder World in San Marcos, TX to go see that earthquake-formed cave, but it turns out that it was closed early when on the brochure, it said 8pm. So, disappointed, we went to the Natural Bridge Caverns, and well... that was closed too, after our 1 hour drive and getting lost, we couldn't go to see that cave either. Finally, we decided to go to the Riverwalk in San Antonio. It was nice---the place donned up with jazzy neons signs and whatnot. Wow, what a nightlife! Another version of Houston, I must say, but the air is so much cleaner to breathe compared to Houston. Anyway, we browsed a bit through the Riverwalk Mall too, but of course, since the exam ended around 4pm, by the time we got there with many miscellaneous stops along the way, most of the stores at the mall were closed...

But it was an adventure nonetheless. We entertained ourselves reading street signs because they got the strangest names... And just "car-touring," a new term I coined, because we were on the road most of the time, and with me looking out the window.

I mean, it's funny enough that we were in 3-4 cities in Texas all in one day, given that we had around 5-6 hours of leisure time after that nearly-all-day exam.

What "bugged" me was this stupid fly that kept making track marks on my skin tickling me. I have to be still so as to not get my aunt to lose points on her exam, and so I couldn't swap that darn fly for 3/4 of that time. It was so annoying anyway. I'm so glad that with that long hot bath I took when I got home, it got rid of those tickling fly sensations on my skin plus the sweat I've acquired from walking and shopping at the Riverwalk.

Now, PMS rules me, and I'm sneezing and wheezing... At least one good thing is that I don't feel bloated now or yesterday, for that matter.

What a day, huh? I love to have adventures like this. It knocks out the stress and keeps life a bit more interesting. *smiles*

But sadly, given the time frame that I had to pack (at the last minute), I forgot to take a camera with me, so no pictures. *cry* And besides, I was clueless as to what the day's plans were anyway. All I knew I had to do was be a live model for my aunt for that weird facial exam. But yeah, it was fun being pampered and being made pretty with all the make-up and whatnot. It was so girly, although that stupid big black fly was a pest...

Well, that's that. That was the entry I've written that time, but never posted up. Hope it was funny for you guys. It really DID happen, too: the fly and the episode with the cop. LOL.

Anyway, school now is actually really interesting. I'm thrilled to be back in school, for my brain was nagging at me (it's so impatient), and sometimes it seems like I need to feed it all sorts of info constantly--junk, useless info, or whatever it wants to feed on. LOL.

Have you ever seen a priest writing on a pink legal note-pad? I thought they only come in the color yellow! That was such a strange sight for me today in theology class.

I've lost my train of thought about a half an hour ago. There were lots for me to say and now I just forgot. Maybe I'm just tired and worried about my stats homework, for I really need to get started on it...

Arrrghhh!! I hate it when I've forgotten something important!! *cry* Oh well. Hopefully, serendipity will grant me my wishes, eh?

Take care, everyone! Happy Thursday... eek!! It's a Thursday already?? *gawks, gasps* I must be REALLY slow on time...
