IMAO. It's been a little more than a week since I last posted. Lots of things have been going on, and I have a good enough share of drama and comedy and so much more in-between.
Thanks everyone for leaving nice comments on my tagboard and I certainly enjoyed the nice discussion on my comment form to my last journal entry. LOL. Seriously, it DOES give me a headache to read blogs that are ALL in slang or alternating between upper and lowercase letters or worse. If I stumble on those, I try to avoid them as much as possible. LOL. And if kids go to school, turning in papers that way to teachers?? Boy, they are really gonna be humiliated in the academia world.
But anyway, I MISS YOU GUYS!!! *huggles* I think I'm back for now--at least for the time being. LOL.
As promised, I'm gonna post photos from my cousin's wedding later, once I get all the films developed, that is. hehe.. *wink*
Let's see, so far, I've watched The Day After Tomorrow and Harry Potter 3. I really enjoyed the whole idea of survival thing: man vs. Mother Nature. It was an impressive movie. Kinda reminded me of that other movie I watched some years ago called Volcano, except The Day After Tomorrow involves global warming, ice meltdown, the world turning to solid ice. A total opposite, if you ask me... LOL. A big shocker for those who think saving the world is not as important as building and increasing economic uses of natural resources. I'd say it's waaay more important than the economy. Harry Potter wasn't that bad either. Most of the scenes take place outside in nature settings a whole lot. And for those who didn't read the book, yeah, you'll get lost as to how if anything made sense in the movie, but it was pretty good.
I also finished reading 3 novels: Guilty Pleasures by Hamilton, Cozy by Hall, and Burning Marguerite by Elizabeth Inness-Brown. The last of these 3 books was amazing. It was like reading poetry, except it's a novel. Very emotional, profound... Wow, Inness-Brown really has a way with words---the world in that book just seems too real to believe. Anyway, come to think of it, sometimes, I have no idea why I document the books I read. Maybe from sheer pleasure or just waiting for someone out there who has read these books and share their thoughts with me? Or maybe I just like to document it as to take note of all the favorite books I've read in the past just in case I come across it sometime in the future, or if I've forgotten about it and just want to remind myself that I've already read it? hehe. LOL. I guess it may be a combination of all of them---more or less.
Anyway, aside from going to the movies and reading novels before bedtime, it was a big family reunion indeed. I'm surprised how everyone can change so much---physically and perhaps mentally? LOL. Because my cousin (Tr.) was a bridesmaid for my cousin's (L.) wedding, she told me that the fiancee (Th.) was mean and arrogant and egocentric and downright condescending, because she thinks that she's the prettiest of all Houston girls, etc. Well, *big shrug* thus my cousin (Tr.) and the bride (Th.) were both having an ongoing cat-fight ever since my cousin (Tr.) got down here from Amarillo. It now makes me wonder if my cousin (L.) wants to marry just for wealth and status and out of desperation because his ex-girlfriend was already engaged, instead of love? I don't blame his desperation, because he's an all-out nice guy, whom everyone labels him as "the pretty boy." Yes, he's attractive and all, but can well be blind to the true nature of his now new wife. Where did I get this from---mostly from my cousin who was the bridesmaid, but frankly, her story can be corroborated by my other cousins who also have the same opinion of what a she-devil the new wife really is. *shrug* Arrggh, I would have liked it a whole lot better if my cousin (L.) would just wait for the right girl to come along---and yes, he's just only in his mid-20's... That's not old... Enough with that drama. I'm just glad that I'm not involved IN it. That would just be headachy.
Aside from that, my Amarillo and Baytown cousins went to the mall. Also, we also went to Brookside Cemetary to visit my grandmother and my sister. To top off the whole week, the weather was downright raining and gloomy the last 3-4 days of the week. Glad to know that there had been 2-3 tornadoes around southeast Texas from watching the news. *note the sarcasm here*
And what do you know? I've been meaning to write some more poems, but never found the time. That's disappointing. Also, I think I may have upset a friend of mind who called this morning. Oh well, I guess I can call him later. I'm just not the greatest phone-person in the world. I just dislike phones. *shrug* And besides, it was like 11am, and I was grouchy all week because everything was hectic...wedding, family reunion, and I had to provide hospitality to my out-of-town relatives... So yeah, I tried catching up on some zzz's. And also, I'm DEFINITELY NOT a morning person at all.
Also, the wedding reception was kinda fun. And we went out to eat at a buffet restaurant the following day (Sunday). So yeah, I think I may have stuffed myself enough already with seafood and lots of good Asian cuisine! And like Candy, yeah, I think we gals need to go on a workout plan. LOL. Jogging, day 1. Yoga, day 2. Basketball, day 3. Push-ups, sit-ups, etc. Boy, I need to burn these excess calories. I've already gained like an inch of fat!! LOL.
Oh, and going to the mall, I felt like the strings in my heart just pulled when I walked by an attractive guy at the mall when I went with my Amarillo cousins on Friday... and he was smiling. That's really weird. I must've felt really mushy and boy-crazy that day, because that isn't normal for me. And my Amarillo cousins also saw another guy (he was Asian) checking me out when I was playing around with these little snail/spider looking little creatures in their colorful shells... or so they told me. Hmmm, what am I now?? A guy-magnet?? Really, I'm really picky with guys. I would very much like it if the guy has enough wit and can either outmatch me with his intelligence or can suffer and learn and even gain the virtues of trust, honesty, loyalty, and caring I value so much. heh, that's kinda hard to ask for, huh? Well, I don't mind the wait. I have tons of patience, garnered from years of practice. Yeah, but the thing is, I'm focused on one thing right now---having fun in college. *smiles* Hey Silver, what is that little spider-snail-like creature thing I described earlier? I'm asking you, because you already took zoology and I know you've seen these kinds of animals. But hey, I saw them at the mall, and they were crawling in the sand at this little tank at this booth. LOL.
Well, I think I got my whole week covered---most of it anyway. And we took lots of pictures. And I even loved that nice fancy limo my cousin and his wife rode in. I wanna ride in one. I hate driving, really. I'd go for a chauffeur any day, instead of me being the chauffeur and me driving around to do errands. Blah.
Until next time, mes amis! *waves* Tis good to be back!!
